Awardee of the Lauener Prize for Up-and-Coming Philosophers
This year’s Lauener Prize for Up-and-Coming Philosophers has been awarded to Dr. des. Susanne Mantel. Susanne Mantel teaches as an assistant with the chair for practical philosophy at Saarland University. Over the past years, she has made remarkable contributions to research in Action Theory (mainly concerning rationality, normativity, acting for a normative reason, the relation between normative and motivating reasons, psychological explanation of action), in Epistemology (regarding epistemic normativity, the epistemic basing relation, accounts of belief and knowledge, virtue epistemology), and in Ethical and Political Philosophy (especially regarding values, virtue theory, meta-ethics as well as ethics of migration).
